Secondary schools in Meadville are overseen by the Crawford Central School District, which strives to create partnerships between teachers and parents in order to exceed standards and arrive at powerful learning outcomes. Meadville’s educational history dates back to the foundation of Allegheny College in the early 19th Century and today continues through devoted instruction, meticulous planning, and strategic administration. Mission The mission of all Crawford Central School’s is to reinforce mutual trust and respect in order to nurture student’s development. Teachers in the district are prompted and trained to address individualized needs while accounting for both student strengths, and each child’s differences. This allows teachers in the district to provide a custom-tailored, personalized educational experience in order to empower each student and arrive at the lofty goals of lifelong learning and interpersonal satisfaction adhered to by Meadville’s incredible educational framework. Goals In the immediate future, Crawford Central Schools will be adhering to a district mandate designed to strategically move schools toward a six-year school improvement plan. These goals are designed to improve school cost-effectiveness, guide student career trajectory planning, move schools toward comprehensive graduation rates, increase mathematical proficiency amongst all students, encourage parent and community involvement in the mastery of both technological and social performance, increase reading comprehension levels amongst students, incentivize outstanding attendance rates amongst the student population, increase student participation across all public programs, and integrate advanced technologies into all scholastic endeavors. Students Although there are a handful of private educational institutions in Crawford County; a majority of the four-thousand secondary level learners in the county attend schools overseen by Crawford County Schools. Attendance is rapidly on the rise, and students routinely meet and exceed statewide standards as well as compete for national merit scholarships. Staff The CCSD employs more than five-hundred highly qualified employees including three-hundred certified instructors and roughly two hundred support staff members and administrators.
